Processes

The Processes module in safer.plus helps you manage operational procedures, risk assessments, and work instructions in one centralized location.

Processes

Processes can include operational procedures, chemical handling, maintenance tasks, and other activities that require risk assessment and work instructions.

Documents like policies and forms are also managed through the Processes module but do not require risk assessments.


Managing Processes

Process Status

The status follows the Version Control system:

  • Draft: Process is being developed
  • Approved: Process is reviewed and active

Process vs Document

While operational processes require risk assessments and work instructions, documents do not. See Documents for more information about document management.

Risk Assessments

Assessment Integration

Each process can include multiple risk assessments:

  • Task-specific hazards
  • Environmental impacts
  • Chemical risks
  • Equipment-related risks

Reusable Risk Assessments

Risk assessments can be reused across processes. Use the Add Existing button to attach previously created risk assessments.

Work Instructions

Instruction Management

Work instructions are generated within each risk assessment row and automatically collected at the process level:

  • Task-specific procedures
  • Safety requirements
  • Control measures
  • Required PPE
  • Emergency procedures

Work Instructions Change Everywhere

Since work instructions are linked to risk assessment rows, any changes will affect all processes using that risk assessment.

Version Management

All processes use the Version Control system:

  • Track changes
  • Maintain revision history
  • Control document status
  • Manage approvals

  • Use clear naming conventions
  • Keep processes up to date
  • Review regularly
  • Document all changes
  • Train users on new versions
