The Incidents module in safer.plus helps you record, investigate, and track workplace incidents and near-misses.
Incidents
Incidents should be reportable by any user in the system.
Special roles exist that allow users to submit Incidents but not have access to any other module of the safer.plus platform.
Managing Incidents
Incident Status
The status changes as the incident investigation progresses:
- Draft: Initial incident report being prepared
- Submitted: Awaiting investigation and review
- Completed: Investigation finished and corrective actions implemented
- Not Applicable: Incident report closed without investigation required
Recording Incidents
Basic Information
Each incident record includes: - Date and time - Location - Type of incident - Description of what happened - Immediate actions taken - Injuries or Medical Occurrences - Attachments - Investigation findings - Results of the investigation - Corrective actions
Incident Types
Common incident categories include: - Undesired Circumstance - Near Miss - Accident - Notifiable Accident - Environmental - Security - Medical Occurrence

An incident is typically managed at two stages:

The incident is submitted and the Details section is completed.

The incident is investigated and the Investigation section is completed.
Each section may be editable by users with different persmissions. Reach out to our support team for more information and customized workflows.
Corrective Actions
Actions are tracked through the Actions module: - Immediate actions - Corrective actions - Preventive measures - System improvements
Dashboard Integration
Incidents are monitored through the Dashboard:
- Open incidents
- Ongoing investigations
- Overdue actions
Best Practices
- Setup users who are allowed to submit Incidents and users who are allowed to investigate them separately.
- Request notifications when an incident is submitted.
- Use the export feature to create reports and analyze trends.
