Business Units in safer.plus provide a way to organize and control access to records and data across your organization.


Overview

Business Units are logical groups within your organization that:

  • Own and manage their own records
  • Have assigned users with specific permissions
  • Control access to data and workflows

Business Units

Business Units are commonly represented as Departments within organizations.

Common types of business units include:

  • Health & Safety Department
  • Technical/Maintenance Department
  • Human Resources Department
  • Quality Control Department
  • Environmental Management Department
  • Production Units
  • Warehouses
  • Regional Offices

Record Ownership

Each business unit maintains its own set of records.

Access Control

User Assignment

  • Users can be assigned to multiple business units.
  • Assignments can be for read or write access.
  • Users with multiple write access should always switch to the business unit they are working in.

Permission Levels

  • Read: View records within the unit
  • Write: Create and modify unit records
  • Approve: Review and approve changes
