Business Units in safer.plus provide a way to organize and control access to records and data across your organization.
Overview
Business Units are logical groups within your organization that:
- Own and manage their own records
- Have assigned users with specific permissions
- Control access to data and workflows
Business Units
Business Units are commonly represented as Departments within organizations.
Common types of business units include:
- Health & Safety Department
- Technical/Maintenance Department
- Human Resources Department
- Quality Control Department
- Environmental Management Department
- Production Units
- Warehouses
- Regional Offices
Record Ownership
Each business unit maintains its own set of records.
Access Control
User Assignment
- Users can be assigned to multiple business units.
- Assignments can be for read or write access.
- Users with multiple write access should always switch to the business unit they are working in.
Permission Levels
- Read: View records within the unit
- Write: Create and modify unit records
- Approve: Review and approve changes
